A daughter of the late Thomas Dixon Huskins and Margaret Kelly Huskins, Ms. Shuford was born August 31, 1921 in Mecklenburg County. She lived 26 years in Mt. Holly where she was a member of Mt. Holly Church of God and worked in textiles in Belmont. She later moved to Long Beach where she lived 13 years before spending the last 12 years in Concord at Concord Place Living Center. She loved the beach and loved reading.
Her family includes her daughter, Judy Barfield and husband Gene of Midland, their 3 children, 7 grandchildren and one great grandchild; and two sons, Tim Shuford of Hickory and his 4 children and Charles Shuford and his 2 children; as well as her sister, Betsy Stephens and her husband, Floyd, of Lucia; and many nieces and nephews.
Two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
A service to celebrate Ms. Shuford’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 19th from the graveside in Hillcrest Gardens in Mt. Holly.
