Margie S. Rowe

Born September 25, 1931 in Conover, NC, she was the daughter of the late Troy and Edna Simmons. Margie graduated from Newton-Conover High School where she met Marcus M. Rowe who later became her husband of fifty years. She worked as a bank teller and at SWBell in Charlotte.

Margie was a member of Myers Park Presbyterian Church where she thoroughly enjoyed her work as an assistant wedding director. She also loved garage sales and could spot a bargain a mile away.

Survivors include her son, Marcus F. Rowe; her daughter, Melissa P. Rowe; and her son, Alan C. Rowe and his wife, Catherine.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marcus; two sisters, Revanda Simmons and Clorene Kistler; and her brother, Oscar Simmons. She remained close to several nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate Margie’s life will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, February 18th at Myers Park Presbyterian Church, 2501 Oxford Place in Charlotte. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
