Marie Marsh Farres

Born on July 6, 1951, in Charlotte, North Carolina, Marie later moved to Miami Springs, where she grew up and met her high school sweetheart, Ric. After marrying, the couple started a family. Shortly after the birth of their first child, Jennifer, the family returned to Charlotte. There the family welcomed their second child, Sean.

Throughout her life, Marie embodied grace, kindness, and generosity. She was a devoted wife of 53 years and a loving mother who was deeply proud of her children’s accomplishments, especially seeing both Jennifer and Sean graduate from North Carolina State University. Marie's family was her greatest joy, and she poured her heart into creating a nurturing, loving home for them.

A lifelong learner, Marie continued her education at UNC Charlotte while balancing the challenges of motherhood. Her selfless nature was evident not only in her family life but also in her many contributions to her community. She volunteered with the Alexander Children’s Network, Wesley United Methodist Church, and her neighborhood civic association. Her warm spirit and tireless dedication left a lasting impact on everyone she met.

Marie was a strong Christian who found peace and purpose in her faith. She cherished the simple pleasures in life, especially her walks with her dog, Mia, and the time spent tending to her garden. Nature brought her comfort, and she found joy in the beauty of the world around her.

In her passing, Marie leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and faith. She is deeply missed by her husband, Ric, her children, Jennifer and Sean, and by all those whose lives she touched with her generosity and warm heart.

A graveside service to honor Marie's life will be held on December 20, 2025, at 3:00 pm at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212.
