Born on May 5, 1942, in Brooklyn, NY, Marilyn built a life centered on family. She married in her early 20s and poured herself into raising four children. She had a warm, nurturing way about her and a sense of humor that could light up a room. Above all, Marilyn loved her family deeply and made sure they always knew it.
If you knew Marilyn, you knew how proud she was of her children and grandchildren. She loved having everyone together telling stories, sharing laughs, and cherishing the little moments that mattered most. Some of the simplest things made her happiest: relaxing with her favorite TV shows or heading out to the movies with her kids (especially if the latest Marvel movie was playing). Marilyn also had a soft spot for animals and adored her beloved dog, Oliver, who meant the world to her.
Marilyn is survived by her sister, Ruth, and Ruth’s husband, Marty; her four children, Lori; Michael and his wife Nora; Mitchell and his wife Julie; and David and his wife Kristi. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren: Ryan (son of Michael and Nora), Raleigh and Kennedy (daughters of Mitchell and Julie), Greg (son of Mitchell and Julie), Nic, Sam, Josie, and Caroline (children of David and Kristi); as well as her great-grandchild, Eloise Sinclair (daughter of Raleigh and Matt).
Marilyn’s love and laughter will stay with her family always, and her memory will be carried forward in the stories they share and the traditions she helped create.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations in Marilyn’s memory to the Humane Society of Charlotte: https://humanesocietyofcharlotte.org
