Marion, 66, entered into the presence of her Lord on Friday, August 17, 2018 at CMC-University
Hospital surrounded by loved ones after a prolonged illness.
She was born November 1, 1951 in Pittsburgh, PA to Helen and Elton Parker, who survive her. Marion was a member of St. Giles choir and Sounds of America traveling choir. She was also a faithful member of First United Methodist Church in Charlotte. Marion truly loved to sing and praise the Lord.
After graduating from South Mecklenburg, she attended East Carolina University and CPCC with a degree in Fine Arts. Art and song were infused into all aspects of her life. She touched so many lives with her genuine love for others and will be greatly missed. As her brother said, “Let's quickly put aside our grieving and remember the gifts that she gave us, a loving spirit and deep faith, and start putting these into practice in our own lives.”
Marion is survived by her husband Bruce Beiderbecke, of 33 years, and daughter Evelyn Mills (Josh); as well as her sisters, Sally Sadler (Robert), Helen Atkinson (Mark), Patty Morgan (Wayne); and brothers Dr. Paul Parker (Dr. Ruth) and Reverend Stephen Parker (Debra).
A celebration of Marion's life will be held Thursday, August 23, 2018 at 2 pm at the Chapel of Harry & Bryant, 500 Providence Road, Charlotte, NC. The Rev. Val Rosenquist, Senior Pastor at First United Methodist Church of Charlotte, will officiate. Family will receive friends in the chapel following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the National Kidney Foundation at www.kidney.org or charity of your choice.
