Mrs. Marion Smith Craig, 93, passed away at Plantation Estates in Matthews, NC on October 13, 2014. Mrs. Craig, born January 30, 1921, was the daughter of the late Herbert Butler Smith and Bertha Green Smith. Mrs. Craig is predeceased by her husband, William Allen Craig and her son, William Allen Craig, Jr. Mrs. Craig worked for many years in the counseling office at East Mecklenburg High School. She was a member of Sardis Presbyterian Church. She is survived by daughters, Janice (Pete) Liles of Laurinburg,NC; Norma (Jim) Monroe of Charlotte, NC; Laura (David) Corpening of Charlotte, NC; daughter in law Kim Craig of Pikeville, NC. She had 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. A private burial will be held at Sardis Presbyterian on October 15. A memorial service will be held at Plantation Estates on Wednesday, October 22 at 1:30 p.m. The family thanks the staff of Plantation Estates and Hospice for the loving and dedicated care of their mother. Memorial may be made to Sardis Presbyterian Church and Hospice.
