

Marion Freeman Goins, 86, of Charlotte, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 9, 2013. She was born November 28, 1926, in Charlotte, NC and passed peacefully in her home with her husband, Elliott Edward Goins by her side.
Marion was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Bryan Freeman and Nell Cornelia Woolf Freeman Belk and three sisters and two brothers.
In addition to her husband of 63 years, Marion is survived by her son, Elliott Edward Goins Jr. and daughter-in-law Becky Swaney Goins of Charlotte; her son Sam Albert Bryan Goins and daughter-in-law Myra Martin Goins of Williamsburg, VA. She is also survived by four grandchildren; Caleb Justin Goins, Hannah Leigh Goins, Luke Graham and wife, Jordan Cornell Goins, Josiah Daniel and wife, Christine Banks Goins who also gave Marion three precious great-grandchildren; Clara Grace, Ashlynn Brooke and Kellan Elliott Goins.
Marion was a loving wife, who was totally devoted to her family and friends. A committed Christian, she loved God with her whole heart and shared His love by being a servant to all.
It was Marion’s desire that instead of flowers, donations be made to any organization that helps feed the needy. Her heart was always thinking of others.
The family would like to thank Sunset Road Baptist Church for all the prayers and many expressions of love shown through the years. The family also wishes to thank Hospice and Palliative Care, Charlotte Region, for their excellent care. Words cannot express how their support and guidance helped the family through this time.
A graveside service will be held at Sharon Memorial Park on Monday, February 11th, 2PM with Pastor Sam Goins officiating.
