January 1, 1964August 3, 2022
Mariya H, born Bugor Yai, January 1, 1964, in Daknong, Vietnam, went to be with God on August 3, 2022. After a long and courageous fight with kidney disease she is now pain-free. Mariya was a woman graced by miracles. She faced death many times during her life and was delivered time and time again. Mariya is one of the strongest women you could ever meet. She fought hard to stay with her family for as long as possible. Her family is grateful for her love and for all of the extra time they had to be with her on this earth. Mariya was able to see her family grow up, work hard and accomplish a dream of a permanent and safe home of their own. Mariya and her husband Lim faced many traumatic events during their life in Vietnam and were brave enough to seek a safer life for their children. They fled Vietnam in the early 2000s, escaping to a refugee camp in Cambodia where they endured more hardship for three years, before finally being relocated to North Carolina in the United States. Mariya’s greatest accomplishments are her beautiful children. She is mother to eight surviving children who inherited her sweet heart and generous spirit. She fought hard to give her family a safe and prosperous life. Although she endured inhuman hardships in her life they were never able to rob her of her spirit. Every time someone entered into her home or her hospital room she always greeted them with a smile and a nod and a welcome heart. Her children love her very much and have always been amazed at the way she was able to constantly offer them the freedom of unconditional love. This never spoiled them, it only made them try all the more to live good lives. Her children were devoted to her care as she was devoted to them and Lim. She never once complained, was always cooperative with medical staff and became beloved by friends, nurses and doctors. Mariya was an inspiration to so many people. Mariya was proceeded in death by three children, she is survived by her husband Lim Y, her children Thi Le and husband Dieu Dun, Dieu Be and wife Mol, Lana H, Jose Y and wife Lan, Nanal H and husband Thu, Lanal H, Penh H and Mai Y and grandchildren Lysia, Chen Lee, Charlie, Phong, Ngan, Nhu, Nguyet, Toa, Xoa, Thoa.
