I miss you everyday Dad! I love you.  I WILL see you again! ❤️

Mr. Paterno was an outstanding teacher. I was one of his students and was fortunate enough to go through school with him as my teacher for over 4 years in various classes. He always pushed us to get ahead in our hvac careers and was always there for us if we needed his help. I myself called him while out in the field a few times, just to ask him questions and get his take on difficult problems. He would listen to my complaints about my job and would offer me a way out by referring me to his contacts if I needed some change. I owe him a lot, he helped me shorten my time at the school by looking through my past degree(I had already attended cpcc and graduated in another career) and applying some of the classes to my current program. He literally helped me graduate a lot faster, and I am extremely thankful for that. I don’t think anyone else would’ve cared enough about his students to do something so great. This saddens me because I found out about his passing today and it hurt my heart. I was thinking about him a few weeks ago and was trying to call his office but I noticed that there was another program chair. I didn’t think much of it but I wanted to talk to him to ask him a complicated hvac question. That’s when I decided to type his name on google to see if I could find him, only to see the obituary. It had been over a year and I didn’t even know. Mr. Paterno was a great man and made a big impact in career and my life. I will never forget him. I just wish that I would’ve been able to thank him. 

I moved to Charlotte in 1983 and Mark was the first "local" I met.  We worked together for over 22 yrs. and then attended school together. We were good friends and I will miss him. My sincere condolences to his family.

Mark was an amazing guy. When I worked for him, he loved talking about his family and how proud of them he was and even some pranks he was planning on. I will miss talking and seeing him. 

Mark was best friend whom i care a lot about and would do anything for him  day or night he was my hvac partner in business, we argued like a married couple because we both thought we were right   but never upset or got mad at each other , after we argued i would say where are we eating lunch or dinner, i loved him like my own brother maybe more since we spend so many days and hours working together  in the hvac field doing repairs. I truly will miss him more than life itself. RIP my best friend :) 

What a great person God blessed us with! Mark, you were a great coworker at CPCC and a wonderful friend. You will surely be missed. Until we meet again! Nikki

Mark, we will miss you! Kind hearted, loved by his students and co-workers (including me)! Honored to have had you in my life. My prayers are with your family during this incredibly difficult time. Will see you again one day on streets of gold.

Mark will be so missed at CPCC. I did not work in close contact with him, but we did see each other at meetings within our division. I know he was passionate about the college being student-focused and how important it was for his students to learn everything they could before graduating.  May his passion be forever remembered...

Forty years leaves me with a lot of memories. I along with other’s will miss you very much.
