Marsha Marian Gwinn, 75, passed away on August 18, 2026. Born on November 28, 1950, Marsha lived a life marked by kindness, perseverance, and a deep love for her family and friends. She will be remembered as a caring sister, aunt, neighbor, and friend whose thoughtfulness and laughter brought joy to those around her.
Marsha faced the challenges of schizophrenia for much of her adult life, beginning in her late teens. She worked hard to manage those challenges and, during many years of stability, lived independently and built a community of close, lasting friends. Those friends looked out for her, and Marsha returned their care with affection, companionship, and her generous spirit.
Marsha had a special gift for making people feel remembered. She faithfully sent birthday cards to family members for as long as she was able. At Christmas, despite having very limited means, she made sure her nieces and nephews received candy or another small remembrance. What mattered to Marsha was not the size of the gift, but the love and thought behind it.
Marsha laughed easily and made others laugh. She especially enjoyed recalling family stories, funny moments, and shared experiences from years past, helping keep those memories alive for everyone.
Marsha is survived by her brother, W. Roger Gwinn, and his wife, Lynn; her nephews, Dylan, Byron, and Ian; and her niece, Maria.
She was predeceased by her brother, Mansel Bruce Gwinn, and her parents, Mansel Bookter (M.B.) Gwinn and Marian Covington Gwinn.
Marsha will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for her resilience, her tender heart, her devotion to those she loved, and the joy she brought into the lives of others.
