Martha retired from Sears Roebuck after 38 years of service. She was a Sales Manager at the South Park store until it closed and continued working part-time at the Eastland Mall store until it closed.
She loved to work in her beautiful garden and shared many plants and planting advice with friends and neighbors.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Joe “Coach” Coulter and grandson, Jamieson Bennett Coulter. Also preceded by three brothers Morris Power, Jr., Joe Power, , Dick Power and two sisters, Lee Annah Howell and Nancy Davis.
Martha is survived by her children Charlotte Merrill (Bob), Donna Little (George) and Jeff Coulter (Denise), grandchildren, Lauren Merrill, Jansen Coulter and Conrad Coulter, great-grandchildren Adi and Conor. She is also survived by brother Jack Power, sisters, Bettie Baum and Doris Baker and brother-in-law, Bill Coulter and his wife Gwen.
A celebration of life for Martha will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 28 at Blair Road United Methodist Church, 9135 Blair Rd., Mint Hill, NC 28227. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Blair Road United Methodist Church.
