Martha Mae Squires Haigler

The daughter of the late Luther Davis Squires and Ethel Whitesides Squires, she was born on August 26, 1923 in Pineville. Mrs. Haigler was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking and organic gardening. She was featured several times in the Charlotte Observer and the Organic Gardening Magazine. Mrs. Haigler had been a member of Fairfield United Methodist Church since 1985.

A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00AM, Friday, December 6th at Fairfield United Methodist Church with Rev. Tony Matthews officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Haigler will lie in state one hour prior to the funeral hour in the church. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park.

Mrs. Haigler is survived by her husband of sixty eight years, Calvin Griff “C.G.” Haigler; two sons, Dr. Steven Haigler and wife Tracy, of Monroe, Tommy Haigler and wife Linda, of Lexington, NC; five grandchildren, Carrie Hilliman, of High Point, Geoffrey Haigler, Lauren Haigler, of both Charlotte, Matthew Holder, Abigail Hickes, both of Monroe.
