Martin David Teli

A tragic accident at home took the young life of David Teli of Charlotte, NC on July 4, 2013. He was born on December 13, 1963 in Lorain, Ohio and moved to Charlotte in 1985. He met the former Christy Linker of Charlotte, and they were married in 1992 at Saint Gabriel Catholic Church.

He was a loving husband and a devoted father to his four beautiful children, Melissa, Brian, Katelynn and John, all at home. David's life was centered around his dearly loved family, and his deep Catholic faith.

David was a loving, caring son and a source of comfort to his mother, Joan Teli, who loved him most deeply.

He is also survived by his sister, Tamara and her husband Wayne Del Grosso and their children, Nicholas and Helena of Charlotte; mother-in-law Diana and husband Mark Hunter; father-in-law Steve Linker; aunts and uncles, Marie and John Casper of California, Peggy and Ron Zehel of California, Dorothy and Joe Moldovan of Ohio; cousins Johnny and Susan of California, Ron of Germany, Lindsey of Florida, John of Colorado, Joe and Melanie of Ohio, Gloria, Liz and Jane of Ohio; dear friends David and Suzie Loney of South Carolina, and Tim and Debi Gouge of Virginia, as well as many other dear friends. David was preceded in death by his father, Martin L. Teli; grandparents Andrew and Helen Doraski, and John and Barbara Teli; and his uncle Kenneth Doraski.

Over the past twenty-five years, David was well-liked and had a mutual respect among his customers and co-workers. The past ten years, David was employed at HD Supply as their City Counter manager where they were grateful to have the high level of care and detail that David brought to their team. “Whether at home or at work, we’ve lost a special talent here in David Teli” - HD Supply.

Our hearts are broken by this profound loss. Please pray for us as we try to make our way without David. Most important, please pray for David's soul.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 7, 2013 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at McEwen Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road, Charlotte, NC. The funeral mass will be held on Monday July 8, 2013 at 10:30 am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 6828 Old Reid Road, Charlotte, NC 28210. Burial will take place at a later time at Crown Memorial Park, 9620 Rodney Street, Pineville, NC 28134. In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted for a memorial fund for the Teli children at, or to the St. Vincent's De Paul Catholic church building fund.

Hi Christy, It's been a very long time but the memories of you and Dave still have a special place in my heart and the others from the softball team. Dave was a great ball player but more importantly he IS a great person.
GOD will be there for you.

Joan, I remember you and your family from the Williamsburg neighborhood and our carpooling the children to St. Peter's school. So very saddened by the news of Marti's death. Our deepest condolences to you and to Marti's family.

Your loss is so great and deep, I know because we lost our son Joseph to a tragic accident. He and Marty were childhood friends. Every day is a so hard but just know that you have your family and loved ones that care about you. May Marty rest in peace and watch over you and your family as he did in life.
