Marty was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose warmth and humor left a lasting mark on everyone he met. He is preceded in death by his parents Darold (Wayne) Howard and Oneida Howard. Marty is also preceded in death by grandson, Brawley Howard. He is survived by his loving wife, Wanda Howard; his children, Christy Foster; Jeremy Howard, wife Kathryn Howard; and Kimberly Noble, husband Christian Noble; his brother, Rodney Howard, wife Marie Howard, and his treasured grandchildren, Brittney, Christopher, and Cillian, who brought immense pride and joy to his life.
Marty built a dedicated career as a quality assurance manager, a role that suited him well. He believed in doing things the right way, paying attention to detail, and standing behind his work with integrity. Those same qualities carried over into his personal life — he was steady, dependable, and someone you could always count on.
Outside of work, Marty truly came alive. He loved the roar of engines and the thrill of race day, rarely missing a chance to watch NASCAR. He had a special appreciation for hot rods and anything with horsepower. Country music often played in the background of his days, providing the soundtrack to countless memories.
One of Marty’s favorite places on earth was the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The mountains brought him peace and perspective, and he cherished time spent there with the people he loved most.
Marty had a gift for making people feel seen and welcomed. His signature greeting — “Hey, I know you!” — was more than just a saying; it was his way of instantly turning strangers into friends. His cheerful spirit, quick smile, and easy laughter will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
Though our hearts are heavy, we celebrate a life well lived — one filled with love, family, laughter, and the simple joys that meant the most. Marty’s legacy lives on in the stories we share, the lessons he taught, and the love he gave so freely.
He will be missed beyond measure and remembered with every rev of an engine, every country song on the radio, and every mountain sunrise.
A Celebration of life will be held on Saturday 2/28/2026 at 10 AM at Assurance United Methodist Church. A small reception will be held immediately after.
