

Mary Louise Rowe Carleton, 85, of Rock Hill, passed away on September 23, 2015. She was born in Doyle, Oklahoma on October 15, 1929 to the late Julia Mae Wages Rowe and Noah Ellis Rowe and moved to Texas at a very young age. Shortly after WWII, on April 14, 1946, Louise married Charles Carleton and they were married for 51 years and blessed with three children.
Everyone fondly remembers Louise having a warm smile and a positive attitude. She was a devoted wife, mother and friend to many. She often read the Bible, loved working crossword puzzles, cooking, sewing and painting. Louise worked with G.C. Murphy Co. from 1964 until 1981. Starting off in the personnel department, she advanced to the position of Regional Personnel Representative, Eastern Region. She left that position to move back to Texas where she continued to be a manager and leader until the late 1990’s. After her retirement, she volunteered with The Gold Star Wives and with the VA. Louise was always willing to help others and loved being around her family.
Louise is predeceased by her loving husband, Charles; daughter, Sharron; siblings, Ozeunia Fay Rowe, Edith Mae Rowe, Norman Ellis Rowe, James David Rowe, Billie Joe Harrison and Cordis Ray Harrison. She is survived by her sons, Richard and Greg, brother, Jesse Wade Rowe, 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.
Interment is to be held in Austin, Texas at a later date with the remains of her late husband, Charles Carleton.
