She was born on March 9, 1936 in Atlanta, GA to Max and Madeleine Shattles Edens. Mary grew up as the daughter of an Atlanta fire chief. Her family continued their legacy in the Atlanta Fire Dept.
Mary was a dedicated and loyal wife for more than sixty years to Garland F. Sailors who passed away in 2017. Mary and Garland had three boys that she dedicated her whole life to. She was passionate about sports with her boys, always being a team mom and cheering them on at every game. Her passion for sports always showed through outside of her boys with the love of Georgia football.
Her passion for her kids was always first but her second love was her career in real estate. She had a very vibrant and spunky personality that made her a success in Union County. She had a smile that would light someone’s day.
Left to mourn her loss are sons Michael (Kelli), Mitch (Molly) and Mark (Kim); grandchildren Cody Sailors, Kimberly Linens (Dwayne), Peyton Sailors, Reese Sailors, Taylor Walls, Harrison Walls, Austin Sailors, Ethan, Chloe and great-granddaughter Laney Linens.
