Maryalice was born to the late Leo A. Armagost and Claribel Belknap Armagost on September 17, 1927 in Erie, PA. She graduated from Edinboro University with a B.A. in Fine Arts and spent 20 years as an art teacher including the Fairview, PA School System. Maryalice loved flowers, reading, painting and travel. She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, William R. Leech in 2013 and by a sister Shirley A. Gustafson.
Maryalice is survived by her son John R. Leech of Charlotte, NC, daughter Jill L. Sloop of North Myrtle Beach, SC; grandchildren John R. Leech, Jr., Patricia J. Leech; great-grandchild Arabella; nieces Kristina G. Taylor (Guy) and Karen G. Welter (Alan).
A visitation will be held 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 12 at Wilson Funeral and Cremation Service, 5301 Albemarle Rd., Charlotte, NC 28212. A private graveside will be held in Sharon Memorial Park.
