Maxie passed away peacefully on May 23, 2023 at the age of 86. Born in Charlotte, NC she was the daughter of the late Roland and Drusilla Wallace. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray James. Maxie was a faithful steward of the Lord, she taught Sunday School for 40 years with nearly perfect attendance and was lovingly known as the "Candy Lady." Her sweet personality and willingness to help anyone made her the perfect friend and confidant. She is survived by her sons, David James (Beth), Matthew James, Daniel James and her daughters, Janet James (Greg) and Susan Reyes (Tony).
She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Service is to be held on Tuesday, May 30th at Forest Lawn Funeral & Cremation Service, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC. Visitation begins at 1:00 PM and the service starts at 2:00 PM with burial immediately following the service.
