Melvin J. Blank

Mr. Blank, 80, of Charlotte, NC , passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at Presbyterian Hospital.

He was born July 16, 1930 in Clairton, PA, one of five children to the late Herman and Lillie Blank. Mr. Blank had worked as an Electrician for the Western Union Company for thirty years and a member of Albemarle Road Presbyterian Church. His lifelong passion and hobby was Astrology and was a member of the Astrology Club which met at the Mint Museum.

The Blank family will greet friends Saturday, October 9, 2010 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon. A service to celebrate his life will begin at 2:00 PM in the Chapel with his son-in-law, Pastor Bobby Hinson, officiating. Burial will follow in Sharon Memorial Park.

Mr. Blank is survived by his beloved wife, Frances Blank of Charlotte, NC; a son, Lynn Price of Charlotte, NC and a daughter, Martha P. Hinson and her husband, Bobby of Monroe, NC; and daughter, Bobbie Jean Williams of Lexington, NC ; three grandchildren: Alisa Marquardt and husband, Travis; Amy Austin and husband, Chad and Josh Hinson and wife, Samantha and five great-grandchildren: Caydence, Ava, Seth, Piper and Caige.

The family would like to send a special thanks to Dr. Jeffrey Walls for his care and concern during his illness.
