Michael Neal Gilleland

Mr. Gilleland, 56, of Charlotte passed away Thursday, November 11, 2010 at Carolinas Medical Center Main.

He was born July 13, 1954 in Mecklenburg County, the son of Laura Sigmon Gilleland and the late Latt G. Gilleland, Jr. He is preceded in death by his first wife Robin Goudelock Gilleland.

Mr. Gilleland was a dedicated employee of Empire Distributors in Charlotte for 26 years. Michael enjoyed NASCAR and spending time with family and friends. He had a deep love for the church and was a very faithful, generous, loyal and kind man.

Surviving are his loving wife of 13 years, Susan Beam-Gilleland; mother, Laura S. Gilleland; brother, Steve Gilleland; sister, Donna Turner and husband Richard E.; canine companion, Tyler; nieces, Madeline, Ansley, and Avery Gilleland; nephews, Scott and Jason Brown; close buddy, Glenn Kirby; and numerous aunts, uncles, family and friends.

A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, November 13, 2010 at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church.

A visitation will directly follow the service at the church.
