Mildred H Dennis "Millie"

She was the eldest of nine children born on July 21, 1927 to the late Charles Glenn Hunter and Pearl Blackburn Hunter of Wilkes County, NC. Preceding her in death was her husband, Amos Carl Dennis and son, Mathew Dennis. She was also predeceased by her sister, Judy H. Baugh and brothers David Hunter and Stephen Hunter.

Millie had a long career in retail sales and management and retired from Belk’s Department Stores. She was an active member of Ascension Lutheran Church in Charlotte.

Millie is survived by one son, Mark H. Dennis of Charlotte and three grandchildren, Ariana Dennis, Mathew Dennis and Jonathan Dennis. She is also survived by three sisters, Mary Snead of Cary, NC, Linda Moser of Raleigh, NC, Carol Bassitt of Charlotte, NC, two brothers, Charles Glenn Hunter of Smyrna, Del, William James Hunter of Garden City, SC and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 12:15 PM at Ascension Lutheran Church on E. Morehead Street. Funeral services will immediately follow at 12:30 PM with Rev. Eric Miller officiating. A private graveside ceremony will be held for the immediate family at Forest Lawn West, Charlotte, NC.

The family requests no flowers and those memorials are made to Ascension Lutheran Church, Charlotte NC.
