She was native born Charlottetian born in June of 1953, daughter of the late Edward and Pearl Hinson. Youngest daughter of eight total children. She was preceded in death by her son, Andrew (Melvin) Dozier and daughter-in-law, Suzanne Dozier, and survived by her daughter, Heather (Adrian) Drayton, granddaughters Arianna and Kierstyn and a host of siblings, nephews and nieces along with countless friends who felt her warmth and generosity.
She was a wonderful mother who always put her kids first and never missed a game or ceremony. She was stubborn, honest, and had an amazing work ethic that she instilled in her kids. That work ethic showed in her role as an Administrative Food Broker for Acosta, working for the same organization from the time she was 21 until retirement. She had a green thumb like no other and enjoyed reading, coloring and word games. A friend to many, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and strength. She will be truly missed by all.
A service celebrating Mildred’s precious life will be held on Saturday, August 17th at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park where friends and family are invited to remember a life that was truly a gift to us all.
