Milton Smith

Milton was born May 17, 1942 in Elizabethtown, NC to the late Mr. and Mrs. Clayton B. Smith. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He was an Economics major and a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. Milton was an avid sportsman, and his passion was hunting and fishing with his family and friends.

Milton retired as a Senior Vice President of First Citizens Bank, where he worked for 47 years. Milton found great joy in establishing relationships, which he cherished with his co-workers, clients, and customers.

Milton is survived by his wife of 50 years, Doodle Myers Smith; son, Dr. Cliff C. Smith, daughter-in-law, Nicole P. Smith; two granddaughters, Lexy and Lara Smith of Charlotte; a sister and brother-in-law, Cherry and Rick Mitchell of Wilmington, NC; and many adored nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Dr. Clayton B. Smith, Jr.

A service in celebration of the life of Mr. Smith will be held at 2 pm on Friday, April 24, 2015 at Myers Park Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, NC. The family will receive friends following the service in Oxford Hall.
