Murray Reid Raborn

Mr. Raborn, age 88, of Charlotte, died Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Wilora Lake Healthcare Center. Born April 30, 1927 in Gaston County, he was a son of the late James Franklin Raborn and Minnie Robinson Raborn. Mr. Raborn retired from Ross & Whitmer Air Conditioning and Heating Services in 1993 after 31 years of dedicated service. He was a faithful member of Northside Baptist Church of 53 years, where he served tirelessly in numerous ministries and offices.

The service to celebrate the life of Murray Reid Raborn will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, September 12th at Northside Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 1:30 PM - 3:00 PM Saturday at the church.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Carter Raborn; two sons, James Graham Raborn and Gary Reid Raborn; four stepsons, thirteen grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Raborn was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Alexander Raborn; two brothers, Harvey Lee Raborn and Reece Raborn; three sisters, Lucie Raborn Bell, Gertie Raborn King and Ruby Raborn.
