
Nancy Catherine Hipp Crawford passed away peacefully at her home with her husband and caregiver, Dean Connell, by her bed. Nancy was born July 20, 1934 to J.C. (Bud) Hipp and Kathleen Harris Hipp. Nancy is survived by her husband, James F. Crawford and a brother, Bennie L. Hipp and wife Marylin. Nancy was predeceased in death by her first husband, Bobby L. England; her brother, J.B. Hipp, and sister, Emmogene Hipp. Several cousins, nephews and nieces survive Nancy. A special thanks to Glori Boyd, Johnny Stewart and Kathy Hipp Smith, who were at the hospital during Nancy’s time of need.
Nancy went to work in for the Celanese Corporation in 1954, in the accounting department, which later became Hoechst Celanese. Nancy attended Central Piedmont Community College and needed about three more credits to become a CPA. Nancy made many friends at the Hoechst Celanese Corporation in Charlotte, NC.
Nancy enjoyed fishing at the NC coast, and the UNC Chapel Hill basketball team, Carolina blue. Nancy also enjoyed AMA Flat Track Motorcycle Racing, the Old Stock Car Dirt Racing Track Racing in North and South Carolina, and the Carolina Panthers.
There will be a memorial graveside service at Pleasant Grove UMC Cemetery on Pleasant Grove Rd, Oakdale, NC, located off Hwy 16, Charlotte, NC. A nephew, Johnny Stewart, will officiate the service. Casual dress. The graveside service will be at 4:00PM, Saturday, October 31st. Visitation will follow graveside service at the cemetery.
Nancy was a born Methodist, baptized and raised in Chadwick UMC, which later merged to become Assurance UMC. Nancy later became a member of Pleasant Grove UMC.
