The beloved daughter of Charles and Hortense Korach, she was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. It was there that she met Howard in room #208 in the 7th grade, and he was the love of her life. They married, had three sons, and in 1955 they moved the family to North Miami, Florida. Her life was filled with love and she touched the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Nancy was the heart and soul of her family. She assisted her husband of 54 years in his medical practice. She served as President of the Sisterhood and as a member of the governing board of both Temple Sinai and Temple Israel in Miami, Florida. Having stood at just a bit over five feet tall, she possessed mpressive resilience and tenacity. She lived her life with a sense of practicality, patience, a strong will, and an open mind and heart. Her spirit of curiosity led her to travel across the country and globe with her family. Her last 20 years were spent in Charlotte where she made many new friends and, until shortly before her final days, was playing Mah Jongg with her regular group each Tuesday.
Her legacy continues through her beloved sons Kent, Bruce and James; her daughters-in-law Nancy and Jaye; her grandchildren Kevin, Robyn (and husband Brian), Alexandra, and Andrew and her great grandson Everett. Each child carries a piece of her and her values, reflecting the profound influence she had on their lives.
Her passing has left an irreplaceable void in the lives she touched, yet her spirit will continue in the hearts of her family, reminding them to cherish each moment and to celebrate the love and wisdom that Nancy exhibited throughout her life.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, September 5th at Temple Beth El, 5101 Providence Road, Charlotte, NC.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to a charity of your choice.
