Nancy Donave Ross Stegall

Nancy Donave Ross Stegall, age 77, of Charlotte passed away March 6, 2013 at her residence.

She was born January 27, 1936 in Charlotte, North Carolina the daughter of the late Robert Henry and Augusta Walden Ross. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles S. Stegall, Sr.

Mrs. Stegall was a Christian with strong faith, a longtime member of Shamrock Drive Baptist Church, active in the Ladies Circle and attended Midwood Baptist Church. She grew up in the Plaza Midwood neighborhood and graduated from Central High School and maintained friendships with classmates. Her greatest joy in life was family to whom she was deeply devoted, she especially loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and was a caregiver for mother during her illness.

Surviving are her children, Charles “Chuck” S. Stegall, Jr. and wife Lisa, Lisa Stegall Gardon, Melanie Stegall, and Deanna Hankins and husband Ronnie; grandchildren, Tim, Kellie, J.R., Jillian, Colt, Kari, Robbie, Jonathan, and Derek; great grandchildren, Mason, Billy, Kendall, Lily, Madison, Molly, Leah, Jamee, Justin, Carissa, and William; and sisters, Audrey Bridges and Barbara Whitley.

A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Monday, March 11, 2013 at McEwen Funeral Home, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
