Born August 28, 1931, in Syracuse, NY,she was predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard F. Tynan, and her siblings (Terese, Joan, and Claire ). A graduate of The Convent School and LeMoyne College (B.A. English Lit), Nancy had a lifelong love for language, and was reputed to never have been at a loss for words.
She leaves behind eight children: Tom (JoAnn), Dick (Ellen), Marty (Michelle), Kitty (Tom), Mike (Peggy), Pat (Renee), John (Angie) and Ann; twenty-one grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and innumerable friends. She will be remembered as one who embraced life fully, loved unselfishly, and seemed to do laundry incessantly.
Nancy and the family moved to Charlotte, NC in 1979, and she spent her time there as a parishioner at St. Thomas and St. Gabriel parishes, serving as a Eucharistic minister and active in religious education.
Nancy will be best remembered as one who centered her life on her faith, and we are comforted in the knowledge that she has found the life everlasting, sees again her husband of thirty-nine years, and knows the peace and joy promised her and each of us by our Lord, Jesus Christ.
A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM on Monday December 17, 2018 at McEwen Pineville Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday December 18, 2018 at 3:30 PM, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, the family will receive an hour prior at church. Burial will be private.
