Originally from New York, Naomi built a life full of love, adventure, and connection. In 1999, she and her husband Carl moved to Weddington, North Carolina, to be closer to family—a decision that brought years of shared memories, laughter, and love.
Naomi is survived by her devoted husband, Carl Kuhns; her loving children, Lenny Tropiano (wife Ebonie) and Luci Unferth; and her five treasured grandchildren: Nathan, Leah, Zach, Sam (Megan), and Jon (Bethanie, great-grandchildren Kinsley and James), who lovingly called her Bubbe. She was also a cherished big sissy to David (Dorothy), a wonderful aunt (Lisa, Andrea, Tracy and Neal), and a loyal friend to many.
A passionate traveler, Naomi turned her love of exploration into a career as a travel agent, helping others experience the joy of seeing the world. Her warm heart, generous spirit, and joyful energy left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Whether she was planning a getaway, sharing a story, or simply offering a listening ear, Naomi made people feel seen, heard, and loved. Her legacy is one of kindness, laughter, and the deep, lasting bonds of family and friendship.
Visitation will be held August 7th, 2025 at McEwen Funeral Service - Pineville Chapel from 5-8pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to be made in Naomi’s memory to Sarcoidosis Foundation (https://www.lifeandbreath.org/), American Heart Association (https://www.heart.org) or a charity of your choice.
Naomi was deeply loved and will be missed more than words can say.
