Nell was born in Burke County, NC on October 2, 1938 to Erastus Jones Clontz and Margaret White Clontz. She worked as a secretary for Equitable Insurance and Mecklenburg County. Mrs. Kelley was a member of University Hills Baptist Church and also attended Mercy Baptist Church in Mint Hill.
Nell is preceded in death by her husband, John Lewis Kelley Jr.; brothers, Johnny Clontz, Norvin Clontz, George Clontz, Wayne Clontz and her parents. She is survived by her sisters, Joyce Cagle, Clara Hunt, Trudy Williams, Reba Lingafeldt, Connie Pressler and Mary Wilson; brother, Van Clontz and her many nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Mrs. Kelley will be from 10:30 am until 11:00 am on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Forest Lawn West Funeral & Cremation Service. Services to celebrate Nell’s life will be held immediately following the visitation in the Paul Helton Chapel at Forest Lawn West, 4601 Freedom Dr. Charlotte, NC 28208.
