Mr. Ervin was born to Oliver T. Ervin and Carrie Shaw Ervin in Fort Mill, SC. He was predeceased by his sister Annie Stewart, brothers Tillman and Archie Ervin.
Baxter is survived by his loving wife of fifty years, Frances; three brothers Grady, John and David, sister Polly Collins, two daughters Maree Price and Martha Herman, and two step daughters Vicki Randall and Gayle Penrord, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Services will be held at McEwen Funeral Home beginning at 11 am and the funeral at 12 noon. Burial will follow at Sharon Memorial Park Cemetery, 5400 Monroe Rd., Charlotte, NC 28212.
