

Ollie Huff, 89, passed away on October 26, 2012, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Born September 19, 1923, in Glasgow, Virginia, Ollie was the daughter of the late John Ernest and Daisy Belle Edwards.
Upon graduating from Jefferson Hospital School of Nursing in Roanoke, Virginia, she entered the U. S. Army Nursing Corps and proudly served with U.S. forces in post World War II Japan. After completion of her military career she was a surgical nurse at Monroe Memorial Hospital in Ocala, Florida.
After her marriage to O.D. “Buddy” Huff, Jr. in 1951, she moved to McIntosh, Florida. In addition to being a loving wife and mother, she enjoyed a highly successful venture operating the family-owned citrus shop on the “top- of-the-hill.” Here she enjoyed telling her customers the history of the local citrus industry and the numerous things that made their fruit so unique. Her charm and enthusiasm made for an unforgettable visit enjoyed by many.
Upon her retirement from the citrus business, she returned to Ocala, Florida and enjoyed spending her summers in Blowing Rock, North Carolina where she was a member of the Blowing Rock Country Club.
Ollie was predeceased by her husband O. D. Huff, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Ollie Diane Huff and family of Charlotte, N.C.; son, James Edward Huff and family of Vero Beach, Florida; grandson, Justin Emerson Huff and family; and great-granddaughter, Isabelle Grace Huff of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the loving care that “Miss Ollie” received from the entire staff at Summit Place of Southpark.
A private graveside service will be held October 31, 2012, at the McIntosh Cemetary. Arrangements are being handled by Harry & Bryant Company, Charlotte, North Carolina and Hiers –Baxley Funeral Services, Ocala, Florida.
