Oscar was born in Mecklenburg County on December 8, 1956. Later in life he moved to Union County.
Oscar loved his family, church, friends and work. Being such a friendly greeter at his church, everyone loved him greatly. Oscar was always so kind and gracious along with a kind word and a smile. Most of all, Oscar loved the Lord and was very mindful of putting Him first in his life.
Like his father, he was a truck driver many years for McAbee Trucking Company and USPS. He previously owned his own trucking company, WIlliams Trucking and Recovery. His love for trucks started as a young boy and remained today!
Oscar was preceded in death by his parents Oscar Williams, Sr. and Edith Hubbard WIlliams who undoubtedly met him with open arms into eternity. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Gloria Sharpe; brother Walter WIlliams. Oscar is survived by his loving brother, Roger Williams (Anne Marie), Bobby WIlliams; sisters Sheila Godwin and Robin Warren; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews that loved him very much.
A Celebration of Oscar's life will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at 10am at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church, 2817 Mt. Harmony Church Road, Matthews, NC 28105 with Rev. Daniel Royster officiating. A Graveside Service will be held later this spring.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Humane Society of Union County and Mt. Harmony Baptist Church in his memory.
