Ozella Robinson

Ozella Robinson departed this life on April 1, 2014 at the age of 70. She was born in Hughes, Arkansas to the late Cephus and Ruby Foreman-Robinson. At the age of 4, her mother died and she was raised by Janie Robinson.

She attended Mildred Jackson High School in Hughes, Arkansas.

Ozella was the fourth of five children, Mattie Lee Robinson of West Memphis, AR, Cephus Robinson Jr. of Detroit, MI, Zella Robinson and Valerie Robinson both of Queens, NY.

She later relocated to New York where she raised her children, Theresa D. Clayborn and Sharon M. Clayborn both of Charlotte, NC and Joseph P. Morgan of Middletown, NY.

She was married to Arthur G. Moore Jr. on December 28, 1973.

Ozella worked several places and attended Wilfred Academy Beauty School in Queens, NY. Her last place of work, from which she retired, was W.O.R.C., a working organization for special needs children and adults.

Shortly after retiring, she relocated to Charlotte, NC in November 2005 and resided with her two daughters and two granddaughters, Ariel and Ashley Clayborn.

Ozella liked to entertain friends, playing music, cooking, baking, planting and watching Joel Osteen Ministries every Sunday morning.

She leaves to cherish her memories one son, Joseph Morgan; two daughters, Theresa Clayborn and Sharon Clayborn; two granddaughters, Ariel and Ashley; her sister, Zella Robinson and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Valerie Robinson of Queens, NY and Mattie Lee Robinson of West Memphis, AR and a brother, Cephus Robinson Jr. of Detroit, MI.

Funeral services are planned for 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 11, 2014 at McEwen Funeral Service-Derita Chapel, 6300 Mallard Creek Road, Charlotte, NC. Friends may visit at the funeral home one hour prior to the services on Friday.
