Born in Charlotte on April 2, 1935 to Lester Conrad Phillips and Ola Louise White Phillips, Pat graduated from Tech High School in 1953 where she was a cheerleader.
Pat loved to tend to her garden where she spent many hours caring for her flowers. She loved the vivid colors of the flowers she planted each year. When she wasn’t gardening, Pat could be found at the beach where she spent many happy times creating memories for her children and later on, her grandchildren.
Her children and grandchildren were the recipients of many crocheted blankets that she gifted them throughout the years. Pat especially loved to use her creativity in sewing the many Halloween costumes for her precious grandchildren while listening to The Gaither Vocal Band’s recording of gospel music.
Pat worked in the retail industry for over ten years. She also found the time to teach Sunday school for many years at Tabernacle ARP Presbyterian Church. Pat sang in the church choir where her voice would reflect her deep faith. She was always a hard worker – both at home and at her job.
Left to mourn her loss are her devoted daughters Ronda (Joey) Burch, Laura (Mike) Helms and Melissa Boulware; precious grandchildren Brittany, Blake, Brandon, Mariah, Makenzie, Alex and Sydney; and adored great grandchildren Hudson, Harper, Russ, Kennedy, Charlie, Miles and Weston.
Pat is preceded in death by her loving siblings Smiley, Catherine, Mary, Lil, Herbert and Jenkie and cherished granddaughter Mandy.
A graveside service is scheduled for Monday, June 3, 2024 at noon at Sharon Memorial Park located at 5716 Monroe Road in Charlotte. The family will greet friends starting at 11am at McEwen Funeral Service located at the same address.
