Patricia Ann Harrington, lovingly known as “Patsy,” was born in 1941 in Charlotte, North Carolina, to Edna Mae Richardson and Anderson Blair (“Tommy”) Harrington. She passed away on March 31, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and cherished memories.
Patsy grew up in Charlotte, where she developed the warmth and resilience that would define her throughout her life. She was known for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and deep devotion to those she loved.
She later married Robert (“Bob”) Coleman, with whom she shared a life centered on love, family, and companionship.
Patsy dedicated 30 years of her life to her career as a registered nurse in Labor and Delivery. She loved her work more than words can express and found deep purpose in caring for others during some of life’s most meaningful moments. Known affectionately by many of her colleagues as “Mama Pat,” she was a mentor, a trusted friend, and a comforting presence to all who had the privilege of working alongside her. Her compassion and wisdom touched countless lives.
After her retirement, Patsy and Bob spent many happy years traveling to the beach, often staying for weeks at a time. Those trips brought her great joy, especially with their beloved dogs always along for the ride. These moments were some of her most treasured, filled with peace, laughter, and time together.
Her faith was a guiding force throughout her life. Patsy was a lifelong, active member of Plaza Presbyterian Church, where she faithfully served for many years. She played the piano for her Sunday school class for decades until the church closed. Her faith was strong and unwavering, and she lived it daily through her kindness, service, and love for others. As she often reminded those around her, “Jesus loves me, this I know.”
Patsy was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and she took great pride in her family. She is survived by her daughters, Deborah (“Debbie”) Ann Armstrong and her husband, Timothy Armstrong, and Bobbie Marie Coleman and her husband, David Manning.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Stephanie Lail and Derrin Lail; and her great-grandchildren, Anderson Lail, Clay Lail, Nicholas Bartlett, Max Lail, Jaxon Lail, and Zane Lail. Her love for her family was the cornerstone of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, Edna Mae Richardson and Anderson Blair (“Tommy”) Harrington; her husband, Robert (“Bob”) Coleman; and her great-great-grandson, Elijah.
Patsy will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
