Born on August 30, 1933 outside of Philadelphia PA, to Joseph and Helen Mawhinney, Patricia lived a long, loving and beautiful life defined by her endless devotion to family, friends and faith.
Pat, as she was known to most, was married to the love of her life, Charlie, for an extraordinary 64 years – a life defined by humor, unwavering loyalty and a shared commitment to a home filled with love, comfort and support. Together they raised a family of 4 children – their greatest joy: Diane, Stephen, David and Lisa.
Pat was a loving grandmother to Kelly and Christopher and great grandmother to Ben and Dylan.
Pat had many interests, but she really excelled at gardening, cooking and baking. No one could get enough of her famous lemon meringue pies. She would always make two – one for her family and one for neighbors and friends. She had many dogs throughout her life – including the wonderful Shelley, Terry, Benji, Sherman, Winnie, Sophie and Dottie.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charlie and her son Stephen as well as her brothers Joseph and John.
Pat is survived by her loving children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and the many who were fortunate enough to know her.
As Pat was fond of saying to all when closing any conversation “Take it Easy”.
A private service will be held by the family on June 25th, 2026. She will be interred with her husband in the Jacksonville National Cemetery in Jacksonville, FL.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital of Memphis, TN ( www.stjude.org ).
