Patricia was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend at the time of her passing on April 30, 2024, at the age of 92. She grew up in Brookline Ma as one of 5 children born to Helen and James Curran. She worked for a steel company until she married Ed Gallant and had 3 children. When her oldest was 6 and her youngest 4 months, the family moved far from home to Houston Tx. There she had 2 more children, moved to Dallas, TX and then to Charlotte, NC where she lived for the next 52 years. When her children were all in school, she took a job at a neighborhood school cafeteria as a cashier, until she retired in 1983. She lived her life dedicated to her children and made sure they (and any neighborhood kids and friends) were well taken care of and loved. Patsy, as she was known to friends, enjoyed music, dancing, bowling, playing games, a good cup of tea, being a good listener or providing gentle guidance to her family and friends.
In the embrace of her loving family, Patricia now joins her husband of 67 years, Edward, her parents, and her brother Jimmy in eternal peace. She is survived by her children: Colleen, Kelly, Eddie, Kathleen, Tim, and her grandchildren: Isabella, Anna Grace, Brooke, Aiden, Dillon, and Riley, her brother David and wife Judy, and sisters Helen (Chickie) and Bernice and many nieces and nephews. Though she may have left this world, her legacy lives on through those who loved her and will carry her spirit forward with love and gratitude.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, honoring Patricia's compassionate spirit and her enduring love for children. As we bid farewell to Patricia, may we find solace in the memories we shared and the love that will forever reside in our hearts.
