

She was born on October 28, 1931 in Lincolnton, NC, the middle child of three daughters, to John Loy and Sedalia Hartman Reinhardt. Pat was the salutatorian from the graduating class of 1950 at Lincolnton High School. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education at Winthrop College in 1954, she began a lifelong career in public school elementary music education in the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System.
In 1957, she married Charles Harold Parker of Charlotte at Dilworth United Methodist Church. While becoming a stay at home mom to raise her two children, she remained ever active serving the music ministry at St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church. At different times over the next thirty five years, Pat Served as a director, member, and soloist of the Chancel Choir, and director of the elementary and preschool choirs. Her contributions to the local choral music community included participation for many years in the Charlotte Oratorio Singers and the Singing Christmas Tree. In the 1970’s, she served as a soloist for several yearly performances of Handel’s Messiah at Boger City United Methodist Church (her childhood church) in Lincolnton, NC. During this time, she also went back to work as a Teacher’s Assistant for the Charlotte Mecklenburg School system.
Additionally, Pat served as the Choir Director at Tabernacle ARP Church in Charlotte. Between 1990-2000, she returned to teaching elementary music education for the Charlotte Mecklenburg School system. After retiring from teaching, Pat taught music at the Preschool at St. Andrew’s.
She is survived by her son, Charles Gregory Parker of Fort Mill, SC, and by her daughter, Patricia G. Parker, of Lancaster, SC.
Pat was preceded in death by her father, Loy John Reinhardt and her younger sister, Johnnie Reinhardt Napier, of Lincolnton; her mother-in-law, Jesse Graham Seaver of Portland, OR; her husband, Charles Harold Parker; her mother, Sedalia Hartman Reinhardt, from Charlotte and Lincolnton respectively; and also by her older sister, Peggy Reinhardt Moore of McKinney, TX.
A service to celebrate Pat’s life will be held on Monday, August 10, 2026, at 1:00 pm at St. Andrews United Methodist Church at 1901 Archdale Dr., Charlotte, NC 28210. Committal will follow at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212.
