

Major Patricia Riley received her summons home to be with Jesus when she was Promoted to Glory about 11:30am on June 7, 2026 shortly after daughters Beth & Bonnie and son-in-law Tom sang some old Army songs, choruses and hymns for her.
Patricia was born February 2, 1927 in Warren, PA, the daughter of Floyd Blaine & Margaret Sophia (Haight) Stephenson.
Patricia grew up in The Salvation Army and worked at Camp Allegheny where she met and was proposed to (in a rowboat on the lake) by William Joseph Riley and were wed on January 24, 1947.
Entering SFOT that following June they were commissioned and appointed to Seneca Falls, NY. While her the first of their three children (Bonnie) was born with Beth and Bill to follow.
Along with her husband, Patricia served in Corps, Area Commands, Men’s Social Service Centers, Divisional Headquarters appointments. They retired from active service as the Administrators of Star Lake Conference Center in April 1989.
In addition to her parents, Patricia was predeceased by her husband William; siblings, Floyd Stephenson, Jr., David, William, Bonnie (Tomer) and Howard.
She is survived by her children, Major Bonnie Schenk (Thomas) of Murrells Inlet, SC ; Dr. William J. Riley of Huber Heights, OH; Major Beth Muhs of Myrtle Beah, SC. Also survived by grandchildren: Jonathan, Stephen (Janet), & Phillip schenk; William Riley V, Timothy Riley, Natalie Wade, Courtney Wade; Erik Muhs (Barri), Gillian (Bobby) Myers; and 13 great grandchildren.
