Patsy Cottingham Pigg passed away September 9, 2024. Born May 24, 1941 in Marlboro County, SC, she was the daughter of the late John Keller Cottingham and Mattie Lee Norton. In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by the love of her life for 43 years, Jerry H. Pigg and by her brother, John L. Cottingham.
Pat is survived by her sisters: Barbara C. Currie and Doris C. Hinnant; her brother, Thomas A. Cottingham (Louise); her sisters-in-law: Ellen Cottingham, Sylvia Pigg, Jeannie Pigg, and Sandra Andrus; as well as many nieces, nephews, friends and her best friend, Kathy Helms.
Pat graduated from West Mecklenburg High School in 1959. Upon graduation, she worked for NCNB for quite a few years. She retired from Woonsocket Spinning Company as secretary to the president for about 30 years.
Pat had many hobbies over the years including quilting, bowling, stamp collecting, working jigsaw puzzles and listening to anything by Elvis.
A memorial to celebrate Pat’s life will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, September 29th, at McEwen Funeral Home, 10500 Park Road, Pineville, NC. Pastor John Ray will be officiating. Prior to the service, the family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00.
