Reid was born on December 31, 1948 in Charlotte, NC. He was the son of the late Paul Oscar Lefler and Lila Reid Howell Lefler. He served in Vietnam, was a proud US ARMY veteran and was a member of Cornerstone Methodist Church in Rock Hill, SC.
He is survived by his wife, Ping Zhao and his children, Jason Lefler (Paula Allison), Scott Lefler (Sue) and Joey Carter (Karen). He is also survived by a grandson, Hunter Lefler and his siblings, Ann Mauney (Ken), Kitty McCoy (Mickey) and Wayne Lefler.
A Celebration of Reid's Life will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025 at 1:00 PM at McEwen Funeral Home - Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Rd., Charlotte, NC 28210.
