Paulette Grier Kennedy was born June 4, 1945, to Robert and Sadie Grier. She had a sister Jeanette and a brother Bobby. She was married to Sam Kennedy for 32 years. She is survived by her nieces Teresa Navaro, from Charlotte NC and Kimberly Brewster, from Savannah GA; Teresa’s two sons Joey and Gabriel, and Kimberly’s son Stephen and daughter Jordan. Also Bobby’s wife Lupe, son Jonathan and daughter Jackie and grandson Tyler.
Paulette was very kind. She helped raise her sister’s two daughters as well as her niece Teresa’s two sons. She always tried to be positive in every situation. She loved to send cards to people. And they always included a personal handwritten message from her that would bless and uplift the recipient. She wrote them for birthdays, when people needed prayer, at Christmas time or just to bless someone! Even at the hospital the nurses told her that she was one of the only patients that always expressed her thankfulness for the care they gave her.
Paulette was a faithful member of the Vine United Methodist Church for many years. She was a prayer warrior, who daily prayed for family and friends as well as anyone who she heard was in need of prayer. When going through her effects at the hospital we found a list of names; it was a prayer list. She also had 3 hymns printed out that she loved, as well as a little devotional book. Paulette loved God above all and did her best to live a life that was pleasing to Him. We know that when Christ returns, we will see her again and rejoice together for all eternity!
There will be a private burial for Paulette. Her Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at 11 AM at The Vine United Methodist Church, 2101 Belvedere Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28205.
