Peggy Funderburk Kirby

Mrs. Kirby, 78, of Charlotte, NC, passed away early Saturday morning, September 10, 2011 at Presbyterian Hospital.

She was born August 6, 1933 in Charlotte, North Carolina, one of two children to the late David E. Funderburk and Elizabeth Smith Funderburk.

Peggy was a graduate of Harding High School where she met her husband, Donald Ray Kirby, of 61years and was a member of Glenwood Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. She was a dedicated homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed by her family.

The Kirby family will greet friends 12 Noon until 1:00 PM, Monday, September 12, 2011 at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon. A service to celebrate her life will be held 1:00 PM, Monday, September 12, 2011 from the graveside of Sharon Memorial Park.

Mrs. Kirby is survived by her loving husband, Donald Ray Kirby of Charlotte, NC; two daughters: Donna Ambrose and husband, Michael of Columbia, SC and Debbi Roberts of Charlotte, NC; two grandchildren: Brandee Bunton Brown and husband, Matthew and Christopher Auble.
