A devoted Christian, Peggy's faith was the foundation of her life. She dedicated countless years to serving her church, where she found great joy in worship, fellowship, and caring for those around her. She lived out her beliefs every day through her kindness, compassion, and generous spirit, leaving a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Peggy was a loving and devoted wife, a caring mother, a proud grandmother, and a cherished great-grandmother.
Peggy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Hoyle Plyler; her son, Jeff Plyler; and her son-in-law, Frederick McIver.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Dawn McIver; her daughter-in-law, Dana Plyler; her grandson, Seth Gundlach (Rhiannon ); her granddaughter, Sara Sasser (CJ); her great-granddaughter, Ava Gundlach; along with many extended family members, dear friends, and her cherished church family.
Peggy's memory will forever be treasured by her loving family, dear friends, church family, and all whose lives were enriched by her love and faithfulness.
A celebration of Peggy's life will be held at Bible Baptist Church, 2724 Margaret Wallace Rd., Matthews on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Bible Baptist Church, 2724 Margaret Wallace Rd., Matthews, NC 28105, honoring Peggy's lifelong commitment to her faith and service to others.
