Peggy Jean Wood Williams, 83, formerly of Townsbury Place and Belle Plain Drive, Charlotte, died Monday, December 24, 2012 at CMC-Lincolnton. A Charlotte native who was born on March 7, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Curtis Pleasant Wood and Ada Murdock Wood and was the beloved step-daughter of the late Dolly Putman Wood. Mrs. Williams retired from Bowers Insurance Agency as an automobile insurance underwriter.
A graveside committal of cremains will be held at 11:00AM, Saturday, December 29th at the Holy Redeemer Columbarium in Sharon Memorial Park, 5400 Monroe Road, with the Rt. Rev. Erik Johnson, officiating.
Mrs. Williams is survived by a daughter, Gloria W. Parlier, of Lincolnton; a son, Scott C. Williams, of Charlotte; a granddaughter, Rebecca W. Sebert and husband Andy, of Charlotte and a great-grandson, Cole W. Sebert, of Charlotte.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca A. Williams; a son, Cyrus V. “Buddy” Williams, Jr. and a daughter-in-law, Kamba B. Williams
