Preston Cromwell Huffman

Preston was born on September 19, 1930, in Manassas, VA to Otto C. Huffman and Lottie S. Huffman. He attended North Carolina State University, where he earned a degree in Textiles. Following college, he proudly served his country in the United States Army for two years. He went on to build a career as a computer analyst.

Preston was a devoted member of Saint Luke Lutheran Church in Ocean Isle Beach, NC. He and his loving wife, Sissy, retired to Sunset Beach, NC, a place that had always held a special spot in his heart and had long been a favorite gathering place for family. In retirement, the two enjoyed traveling together. Preston was known for being handy and resourceful; he built two campers for his family, which they used to travel across the United States when his children were young.

Preston is survived by his wife of 73 years, Alean “Sissy” S. Huffman; his son, Paul B. Huffman, and spouse Thomas J. Pierce; his daughter Deborah H. Mullen, and spouse Patrick M. Mullen Sr.; his daughter, Pamela H. Gore, and spouse Jerry S. Gore Jr; his grandson, Patrick M. Mullen Jr.; and his granddaughter, Anna E. Gore.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto C. Huffman, and Lottie S. Huffman; his sister, Jewell H. Sox; and his son. Darwin L. Huffman.
