Queen Esther Bolden was born on September 24,1951 in Brooklyn, New York. She ascended to our Heavenly Father on Tuesday August 9, 2022 at the age of seventy. Queen Esther Bolden was the widow of her late husband James Bolden Jr. She is survived by her two beautiful daughters Rasheda Magny and husband John Magny and Jamila Marlene Bolden and husband Pierre Buissereth. She leaves a beautiful legacy of three grandsons, Cashmere Amir Buissereth, Mekhi Prince Magny, and Tyler John Magny.
Queen was the first born of her late parents Bosco Reid and Marlene White. She was the oldest of her late younger sister Bernetta Davis and her late younger brother Novel Rogers. She is survived by her younger brother Charles Kiser White and her younger brother Wilton William White. She was the niece of her late aunt Elizabeth Smith and she is survived by her aunts Vivian Doris Barnes and Patricia Leary. She is also survived by four nephews. As well as a host of cousins and in-laws.
Queen met the love of her life, best friend and late husband of 39 years during her senior year of high school. After graduating from Prospect Heights high school, Queen pursued a career as an underwriter at New York Life Insurance Company for 15 years. Queen and her late husband James later relocated their family to Charlotte, North Carolina. She then followed her heart and love for caring for others with a career as a Dietary Manager at Southminister Retirement Community where she retired after 21 years.
The joy of Queen’s life was her family. She loved her best friend and late husband James and she completely adored her daughters Rasheda and Jamila. She was her daughter's anchor and she built the foundation that set the path to the successful women they are today. The gift and blessings of her pure unconditional love and dedication to her family was unparalleled to any other. She was an exceptional grandmother to her three grandsons. She was there for each and every single birthday, school and sporting activities, graduations, and every special occasion. She was truly the matriarch of her family and she started a family tradition of spending every single holiday together as a family. Her strength and resilience is evident in the legacy that she leaves in this life.
Queen enjoyed listening to R&B and Soul music while dancing to her favorite hits. It was the constant heartbeat of her home. She loved vacationing with her family and being on the beach. She touched the lives of so many in the purest way. She was an authentic and selfless human being. She will be forever loved and honored by her family and all of her friends. She had such a joy and light that left a positive impact on everyone in her life. She was truly a gift from God.
A funeral service for Queen will be held Sunday, August 14, 2022 at 3:00 PM at McEwen Funeral Service-Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road, Charlotte, North Carolina 28210. A visitation/reception will occur following the service.
