Rachel Wallace (Martin) Dulin

November 17, 1922July 6, 2020

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Rachel Wallace Martin Dulin of Indian Trail, NC on July 6th, 2020, at the age of 97. Rachel was married to Charles Walker Dulin for 49 loving years. She will always be remembered and missed by her children, C W Dulin (Bobby), Hamp Dulin (Becky), Hood Dulin (Carole), Rick Dulin (Robin), 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rachel was predeceased in death by her parents, Roxie and Ambrose Martin; husband, Charles; siblings, Tom, Sue, Dewitt, Hamp, Lucille, Callie, Buddy, Virginia, Donald and Jimmy.

She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. In addition, she worked for Charlotte Mecklenburg School System as a Cafeteria Manager for many years. She was a godly woman and an active member of Arlington Baptist Church for 40 plus years, seniors choir member and Daughters of Ruth Sunday School class. She was also a member of the Home Ext. Club of Mint Hill. Rachel loved all the grandbabies and spending time with them brought her great joy in life! She probably rocked those babies on her porch swing for hundreds of hours while singing, Sing Little Birdie Sing and then she would say, now listen, do you hear the birdies singing? Traveling was something Rachel enjoyed and she did so as long as she was able. Rachel enjoyed her independence way into her 90’s. She liked her coffee HOT, had a valid driver license and was always up for a trip to anywhere, member of the Showmar’s 90’s club for 7 years and went at least once a week where I am sure they knew her by name.

A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, July 12th, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. Arlington Baptist Church, 9801 Arlington Church Road, Mint Hill, NC. The service will be held in the Life Center. Graveside service to follow Immediately after at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Arlington Church Building Fund, Mint Hill, NC. The family would also like to say a sincere thank you and appreciation to Harris Hospice.

It is with great sadness that I hear of my Aunt's passing. It has been a while since I have seen her, last enjoyable meeting was at the Dulin Reunion . As a child, the reunion's were at Rachael and Charlie's house. It was always the best for us kid's....land to roam, a cow, dog's and the beloved horse named Sun, also the ponies! I pray for her and the Family. Time goes so quickly.....I miss seeing you all, but the treasured memories are in my heart, forever.

The Dulins were our neighbors on Hannon Road.
Rachel was one of the most pleasant and fun loving ladies ever. She was always friendly and made you feel that it was good to see you. She was an encourager, a strong Christian witness, and a wonderful mother to her children.

Heaven’s gain for sure❤️🙏

CW, Hamp, Hood and all your loving family. My first memories of Rachel go back to the early 50's when we all lived on Alexander st in Charlotte. Rachel and Charles always had a smile on there face and welcomed everyone to there home. Charles and Rachel stood up for my mom and dads wedding back in June of 39'. Now they all will be at rest on "Martin Hill" at Sharon Memorial .
May the Blessings of Almighty God and His eternal light shine forever on your parents .

I will always remember Mrs. Dulin's lovely smile, beautiful blue eyes (we know where Hood got his from), and happy disposition. She loved to share her family stories and life experiences. We will all miss her especially on Christmas Eve! I know you are talking up a storm with all your loved ones in Heaven! God bless you Mrs. Dulin!

CW, Hamp, Hood, Rick & your families,
I am so sorry to hear that Aunt Rachel has passed. Please know you all are in my prayers and in my heart. I ask for God to give you all strength, comfort & peace as you walk through this difficult time. Rachel was a wonderful, funny and loving woman. She was also one of the best cooks in the area. I remember as a child, the little grill she and your Dad ran in Mint Hill. We also had great reunions and dinners at their house, where ya'll grew up. I love you all and send love from Mom and Dad.
