Raisa Nemirovsky, maiden Bariban, was born on October 2, 1931 during the turbulent years of Soviet Union. Famine, pogroms, persecution of Jews in Ukraine forced the parents to move north to Karelia in search of a living. In 1937, brother Dima was born, and then Grisha. They returned to Ukraine, but soon the war began. Father Naum went to the front, and mother Nina with three small children and elderly parents joined the crowds of refugees and on freight trains, moved to the East, without food or things. The train was bombed, but they got to Tashkent. Heat, hunger, malaria; Grandmother and Grisha died. After the war they reunited in Ukraine, where brother Igor was born. At the age of 15, Raisa was helper at home in everything, babysitting with her little brother. in 1949, a big sailor, Senya Nemirovsky, noticed her at a dance club. It was destiny. Senya, a young orphan entered our house and became a member of our family.
Gena was born in 50m. Father Naum was a photographer and taught this profession to Raya and Senya, who wandered around different towns until they successfully settled in Ternopil. A prosperous life did not make Raisa haughty, indifferent to relatives and friends who were in need. She constantly helped financially: brothers, parents, aunt. She twice saved brother Igor, who was left penniless in the cities of Gorky and Astrakhan, sending saving money transfers at the most critical moment - hunger, a strange city, there was nowhere to wait for help.
The well-being of their lives was not eternal. The collapse of the USSR, the threats of the neo-Bandera supporters destroyed the good life with lightning speed.
They emigrated to America, where they were provided with everything for retirees.
However, nothing lasts forever. Three loved ones die: Senya's husband, Dima's brother, the worst blow is Gen's son.
In recent years, her relatives have shown warm care for Raisa: nieces Nonna and Ella, sister-in-law Larisa.
They took her to their home for the holidays, provided her with care.
Raisa left this world on September 19, 2020, as quietly as she lived her long life.
Thank you, Raichka, for everything.
May you rest in peace!
